I’m Lesley Murray from Anaiwin Land in Northern NSW. After a stroke in 2020, I’ve been working to reconnect with my culture through my art in the form of paintings, drawings and printmaking. My inspirations come from my life experiences – my childhood, motherhood and life as an Aboriginal woman.
I believe art helps build good mental health by freeing the mind of the everyday stresses of life by letting you rest your mind and connect to your creative side.
I’m currently an artist at Beananging Kwuurt Institute (BKI) where I lead an emerging Aboriginal Art Group.
Please join me in a cultural emersion of my art in my open air studio.
