I am an abstract artist and have recently started to explore geometrical patterns in my artwork. I have been painting for many years from my studio in the lovely Perth hills and bush area. I majored in painting at Curtin University in 2009 and since then have taken various classes and been mentored by Gayle Mason. In my work I am exploring design principles – colour, form, composition and mark making. When starting a painting, I never know how it will finish until gradually it starts to reveal itself to me. I just love painting. It takes me to a place of deep concentration and focus. At the moment I love Ric Burkett’s work, and conversely – Rex Ray’s highly controlled paintings.
